We are really pleased that you are considering booking an appointment with us – or have done so already – and look forward to helping you, from the first gown you try on right through to your alteration fittings. You may find the following information useful:
Your initial appointment (up to two hours):
We have just one dressing room and sitting area, both spacious and beautiful! You will have the exclusive use of both plus refreshments and, of course, the assistance and advice of your very own friendly and experienced stylist.
We recommend that you bring along no more than four guests and no small children, so you may enjoy your experience without the responsibility.
Once you have chosen your gown, you will be measured and then discuss with your stylist the best size for you. Please bear in mind that each designer makes their gowns according to their own individual size guides. Generally speaking, gowns are structured and are not made of elasticated fabric. This means that while a seamstress can alter a dress slightly - either larger or smaller - to fit, a size 10, for example, will not stretch to a size 14 or 16.
You will be required to sign Nell’Amore’s Terms and Conditions and a copy will be given to you for your records. A 50 per cent non-refundable, non-transferable deposit is then taken, and your gown is placed on order.
You are welcome to book a subsequent appointment, if you feel you need more time to make a decision. But please bear your wedding date in mind. Dresses take between four and six months to arrive at Nell’Amore, with an additional two to three months for alterations.
As soon as your beautiful gown arrives, it will be meticulously checked and steamed. We will then contact you to arrange a collection and balance payment appointment, which must be within two weeks of the dress’s arrival.
Your collection appointment (up to 90 minutes):
These are available 10am-5pm, Monday to Friday, and on Tuesdays evenings, with 5:30pm being the latest appointment we can offer. A Saturday appointment may occasionally be possible.
This will be the first time you are in your gorgeous wedding gown!
We will go through the care of your dress with you, how to store it and how to put it on on your wedding day. If you have a corset-back dress, we will teach you how to tie it.
We will discuss with you any alterations required and give you contact details of our highly-skilled recommended seamstresses. (link to page)
Your collection appointment is an ideal opportunity to select veils, tiaras and other accessories.
The 50 per cent balance is payable before you take your dress home.
But that’s not Goodbye…..
Each and every client is very important to us, something we never forget. So, once you have collected your gown, please remember that we are happy to help and will check with you regarding alterations etc. In short, we are here for you right up to your big day.
GOWN ALTERATIONS AND OUR RECOMMENDED SEAMSTRESSES
It is rare for a wedding dress not to need some kind of alteration, most frequently the length and sometimes at the bust. Naturally, if a bride has gained or lost a lot of weight between placing an order and her gown arriving at Nell’Amore, that will mean it needs tweaking too in the appropriate places.
Our seamstresses, all of them highly experienced in bridal wear alterations, operate independently of Nell’Amore. We have no link – financial or otherwise – to them. We simply love their extremely high standards of workmanship and customer service, and are, therefore, very happy to pass on their contact details to our brides.
We find that, by suggesting external seamstresses, it keeps costs down for our clients. Brides are, of course, welcome to engage their own seamstress.
As we and the seamstresses operate separately, we advise brides to contact their chosen seamstress as soon as possible after collecting their gown to arrange fittings. This is very important as, being independent, they are free to source other clients elsewhere, and they can become too busy to take on more work. As such, we cannot guarantee a seamstress for you. Once you are booked in, however, first fitting is usually at least six weeks before the wedding, but do check with her. Space can be limited, so please avoid taking along guests and children.
Please remember that the seamstresses are independent of Nell’Amore Bridal Wear, and, as such, Nell’Amore Bridal Wear and its staff cannot be held responsible for any matters arising from their use.
For Bridal fittings, please remember to take along your:
Underskirt – If you have bought one.
Shoes – The ones you plan to wear on your wedding day.
Underwear - Especially the bra you will wear on the day, if you choose to wear one.
